When we use BATEIG NATURAL STONE with mortar for façade coating purposes, we recommend the following adequate laying. Which involves the use of fast-drying adhesive mortar, (Ardex colecen FX or similar, except for Bateig Blue which will use Ardex alequix 701 S) which are specially designed for these purposes, taking into account the technical recommendations for mortar, including the use of stainless steel fixing devices, for the conservation of the special characteristics of the material as time passes.
In addition, we also recommend a clearance space of 5 cm between the slab next to the façade and the floor, in order to prevent the water with dissolved salts (main cause for the alteration of stone materials) from moving through capillarity, thus deteriorating the materials.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PAVING LAYING.
1.- The thickness of the paving will depend on the surface on which it will be used.
2.- Fast-drying adhesive cement, known as Ardex, will be used as the material to fix the support.
Ardurix S-33 / S- 70 grey will be used for BATEIG BLUE.
In all other cases, S-36 white will be used.
A plastering trowel will be used to lay the paving.
A small quantity of fast-drying adhesive cement will also be applied with a heart trowel to the stone face that is not exposed.
3.- We recommend a clearance space of 1 mm between the edges.
4.- Ardex cement will also be used to seal the joints (grey or beige colour, depending on the type of stone). BS-FLEX will be applied to joints with a thickness of 3 to 5 mm, with a lower FS, cleaning the joint surface with a damp sponge before and after applying the treatment.
5.- If you wish to treat the porosity of the exposed stone surface, an adjacent sealing treatment will be applied in order to keep it clean and maintain its intensity and efficiency characteristics, in accordance with the final use.
(The treatment process can be carried out at the factory or after the paving laying process, depending on the usage recommendations of the product and the recommendations from out technicians, who will ensure the paving is in the optimum working conditions).
